How To Contact Me

Hi,

My name is Chris Longthorn and I am now retired. I live in Rugby in the UK.

I have been interested in Astronomy since I was about 11 when the Apollo moon shots were taking place. Over the years I have owned several telescopes and I currently use a pier mounted CEM40 with either a 100mm F/6 refractor or a 200mm F/8 Ritchey Chretian classical cassegrain reflector.

I have had an observatory at my current address several years. The present observatory is a 2.2m Pulsar Observatory which was assembled in August 2023. Previously I've had a run-off roof shed which housed an 8.5 inch Newtonian Reflector and a self built wooden rotating dome observatory which underwent several transformations over its life, housing a variety of telescopes. Visit the Observatory page to see how I constructed Cymbeline Observatory.

I am currently Chairman of the Rugby and District Astronomical Society which has been in existence since 2007.

I have also been a member of the British Astronomical Association since I was 17.
